This 2008 Burstner Argos 747-2G is an excellent 7 berth motorhome, housing an overcab bed, front lounge with four additional belted seats, a transverse bed to the rear and a huge garage. The design of the Argos is striking, with an imposing graphics scheme and a champagne paint finish on the cab. The tag-axle Fiat/Al-Ko chassis allows for the construction of a real double floor where all ducted piping goes, making for great externally-accessed storage space and full winterisation. The habitation door is three inches thick and fully reinforced, proving excellent for insulation and security. Above you have a very expensive Fiamma electric awning, creating an outside canopy and increasing your living space. An electric Omni-Step is found below the habitation door and allows easy access into the motorhome. The huge rear garage can be accessed either-side and has the ability to house a scooter/motorcycle, if desired. To the rear you have a Fiamma bike rack fitted, whilst a reversing camera is located above. To complete the list of external specification, you have an Oyster self-seeking satellite system and a Dometic habitation air conditioning unit, both of which are roof-mounted.
Internally the 747-2G is very well thought-out, offering huge levels of space and comfort throughout. The combination of the quality wood finish and Impala upholstery scheme creates a luxurious feel, whilst the motorhome is very well lit. The cab area houses twin seats, both of which have the ability to rotate. Safety levels are good, with driver and passenger airbags as standard, whilst other specification includes: ABS, power steering, electric windows and mirrors, cab air conditioning, 2 x 12v sockets, a radio player and a dash mounted screen to present the image from the reversing camera. The base vehicle of the Argos is the brilliant Fiat Ducato 3.0 160 Multijet, which has covered just 18,475 miles from new.
Above the cab area is your first sleeping arrangement within a large double bed. The quality of the mattress is second to none and assures an excellent night's sleep. A sumptuous sky-light provides the area with plenty of natural light, with a window on the offside proving useful too. On the nearside is a couple of reading lights, whilst access to the bed can be made easy through a wooden ladder, which secures neatly into designated holders.
Moving to the lounge area you will see that it is the perfect family setup. The large dinette area has twin facing bench seats, both of which have the two three-point seat-belts fitted, taking the total travelling capacity to six. The excellent ‘Reliner’ side sofa facing the twin dinette seating is an exclusive Burstner innovation: tug on the attached pulls and the seat squab slides forward, and the back rest rakes, for optimum TV-watching comfort. The armrests, too, can be raked if you want to lie down and rest your head. For dining there is a high quality table, whilst storage facilities can be found within overhead lockers and space beneath the seating. One of the lockers houses a television unit, which is fitted on a sliding bracket. Habitation controls and the operation switch for the electric awning can be found above the main entrance door, whilst a drinks cabinet and side unit can be found to the right. The Dometic habitation air conditioning unit is positioned centrally in the Argos to ensure perfect circulation. The dinette bed is made up by lowering the table to act as the bed base, and extending the seat benches. The side settee opposite can be utilised as a single bed.
The kitchen is another very well thought-out area within the Burstner. Split into two sections, facility can be easily used by more than one person at a time. On the nearside you have a full sized oven/grill unit, with a four burner hob integrated above. Above that is an extractor fan, whilst the stainless steel sink is to the right and has a chrome mixer tap along with a drainer. Controls for the Alde heating are also found on the nearside of the kitchen, whilst storage space is offered through cupboards and drawers. Directly opposite is a microwave unit and a full sized Dometic fridge freezer below.
The fixed transverse bed is accessed easily through steps, which fold out of a cupboard below. The mattress is of high quality and assures a great night's sleep, whilst natural light pours through windows either-side and a mini Heki. Lockers are provided for storage of clothing. An additional television unit is fitted within the area too.
The washroom is split into two sections, with the Thetford electric flush toilet positioned on the nearside. To the right is the wash basin, which has a chrome mixer tap and a vanity unit below. The separate shower unit is found on the offside and has folding doors along with chrome fittings. Ventilation is provided, along with an additional storage locker.
