This 2007 Hymer B-CL 694 SL is a luxurious 4 berth A-class motorhome, housing a drop down overcab bed, front lounge, fixed transverse bed to the rear and a large garage. The Hymer comes on the Fiat Ducato platform, with an Al-Ko chassis to allow for a double-floor design, which means onboard fresh- and waste-water tanks and superb winterisation. In terms of attractiveness, Hymer’s A-classes are difficult to beat, and the B694 SL continues the trend with its sleek shape, classy detailing and beautiful, silver paintwork. The habitation door is located on the offside, and is equipped with an electric step below for easy access into the motorhome. Above there is a Thule Omnistor roll out awning, which is neatly finished in silver to blend with the rest of the 694 SL. Also on the offside is the gas cylinder locker, which is fitted with a Gaslow system, allowing you to fill up on gas at fuel stations which offer LPG. Underslung storage lockers can be found on either-side of the Hymer, whilst the rear garage offers an abundance of space and is also accessible either-side. A satellite system and solar panel have also been fitted as optional extras, and are both roof-mounted.
The quality of the interior fittings is second to none, every detail has been thoroughly considered by Hymer, making this motorhome the ideal tourer. The upholstery is suede and offers high levels of comfort, and is also fitted to the front cab seats, which can also rotate and add to the lounge facility behind. There is a drivers-side access door, which is very useful. In terms of cab equipment, you have: ABS, power steering, electric windows and mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning, multimedia system with an electric folding reversing camera screen, 2 x 12v sockets and blinds to enclose the area when privacy is desired. The base vehicle of the 694 SL is the Fiat Ducato 2.3Jtd, which has covered just 36,660 miles from new.
The benefit of A-class motorhomes includes the fact that you get a double bed at the front, without losing headroom within the living space. Dropping down on air struts, there is a hugely comfortable mattress, which assures a great night's sleep. The bed comes down to a level where it is easy to access, whilst a soft light is fitted above to provide ambience when it is darker.
The Hymer has an L-shaped dinette with facing seats, and with the cab seats swivelled it will accommodate five people easily. The lounge table moves on two axes for greater flexibility, and measures 84.5 x 69cm. The lounge windows offer very good levels of natural light, along with a huge roof-light. In terms of storage, you have plenty of overhead lockers and space beneath the seating. To complete the area, there is a television found within it's own locker, which cleverly hides away when not in use.
The L-shaped kitchen provides a lot of moving and passing space, which is crucial since it sits between the lounge and washroom. You have a very good storage arrangement, with a handy set of bins located in a drawer, and two long drawers under the sink which can also be accessed from the side, through a cabinet door, making it easy to reach into them without blocking access through the vehicle. When it comes to equipment levels, you have a three burner gas hob located on the nearside, with an extractor fan above to remove cooking smells. A stainless steel sink can be found to the right and has a surface cover along with a swan-neck chrome mixer tap. Directly opposite you have a huge Dometic dual-fuel fridge freezer unit, with an oven/grill combi unit above.
Moving to the rear of the 694 SL you will come across the fixed transverse bed, which is very spacious and offers an excellent night's sleep. Access to the bed is made easy through a couple of steps, with one of them also having clever storage space beneath. Lighting to the area is good, with both natural and artificial sources proving effective. For storage, there are overhead lockers and a large wardrobe, positioned just before you enter into the facility.
The washroom is split into two cubicles and positioned just in front of the bed, so the rear section can be cordoned off to create a little en-suite bedroom area. The benefit of having a separate shower is that the toilet area can be utilised without it ever being wet. The Thetford electric flush swivel toilet can be found on the offside, along with a stainless steel wash basin, which has a chrome mixer tap and a vanity unit below. Additional storage can be found above, as well as a roof-light to provide ventilation. A sliding door encloses the washroom. The circular shower unit is located opposite and has chrome fittings.
