This 2006 Hymer Tramp 655GT is a high quality four berth motorhome, housing a front lounge with belted seats, along with a fixed bed to the rear. This particular example is left hand drive and has also been equipped with the extremely rare automatic gearbox. Externally, the 655GT stands out with classic Hymer silver paint finish, combining excellently with the traditional graphics scheme. Taking a look on the offside you will find a reinforced habitation door, which has a dual electric Omni-Step just below. A Fiamma grab handle has also been added to aid access and to also enhance the security of the habitation door, whilst a roll out awning is located above and creates an outdoor living space. Also on the offside is an underslung gas locker, which contains a refillable gas system, an essential if you wish to travel into Europe. An additional locker can be found to the rear, which allows storage access to beneath the fixed double bed. On the nearside of the motorhome is the water inlet point, along with the electric hook-up point and the Thetford toilet locker. At the rear you have a fully reinforced tow-bar, a three cycle Thule bike rack and a reversing camera. To complete the list of external specification you have a Oyster self-seeking satellite system, along with a rigid solar panel, both of which are roof-mounted.
The interior design of the 655GT is exceptional, with lots of room space and plenty of natural light sources. The quality of the finish is second to none, as expected from Hymer. Taking a look at the front cab area you will see that twin seats are housed, both of which have the ability to swivel and add to the lounge facility behind. This example comes equipped with an extensive level of cab specification, making it even more desirable. You have: ABS, power steering, cruise control functions on the steering wheel, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, 2 x 12v sockets, a radio player and Remis cab blinds to enclose the area at night. The base vehicle of the Tramp is the Fiat Ducato 2.8JTD, which has covered just 37,770 miles from new. Furthermore, you have an automatic transmission, which is an extremely rare option on this age of vehicle.
The lounge area is just behind the cab and consists of a forward facing bench seat, along with a side settee. With the addition of the front seats rotating, you are presented with a very flexible and sociable setup. The forward facing bench seat is equipped with two three-point seat-belts, allowing a total of four to travel. Lighting to the area is excellent, with both natural and artificial sources proving effective. The dining table is very generously sized, whilst storage can be found through overhead lockers and space beneath the seating. To complete the lounge area, you have the option of configuring a further double bed. The table lowers and the cushions fold down, creating a comfortable arrangement.
Moving to the kitchen area, you will see it is split into two sections. On the nearside is a three burner hob, along with the stainless steel sink, which has a swan-neck mixer tap. A draining unit can also be found, whilst an extractor fan ensures cooking smells are removed from the 655. Cupboards, drawers and lockers are also found on the nearside and prove useful for essentials. Directly opposite there is a Dometic fridge and separate freezer unit, along with a microwave which is fitted above.
The highlight of the 655GT's layout is the fixed bed, positioned at the rear of the motorhome. Surrounding windows provide great views and lots of natural light, whilst a mini Heki is also present. Storage is provided through overhead lockers, a large wardrobe and an abundance of space beneath the double bed and you will also find an Avtex television unit. The control panel for the satellite system can be found in the wardrobe opposite the bed.
The sliding door to the right of the fixed bed opens to reveal the washroom area. Inside there is a stainless steel wash basin, fitted with a chrome mixer tap and a vanity unit below. To the left is a Thetford electric flush swivel toilet, whilst the separate shower unit is on the far-side and has chrome fittings, along with a vent above.
